From 13 Feb 2021 to 14 Feb 2021

Welcome to the fourth virtual event in our One Community Series. Following One Community and One Up, we bring you One Love. There are three distances to choose from - 50km, Half Marathon and 5km. These events will take place over Valentines weekend of 13th-14th February 2021. We wanted to give our community something to aim for during the latest national lockdowns here in the UK and to provide some help and support along the way. It's the ideal pre-season training as we look forward past the current situation to our in person events getting started. Two of our senior coaches at Centurion - James Elson and Robbie Britton - will be providing weekly group coaching calls to anyone who signs up to the 50km and wants to take part. Further details below.

General Info

What is It

Centurion Running One Love is a virtual event which takes place over the weekend of the 13th-14th February. Runners have a choice of three distances - 5km, Half Marathon (13.1 miles) or 50km and have between 0001 GMT on the Saturday and 2359 on the Sunday to complete their distance. The event is for everybody, anywhere in the world, of any age.

All you have to do is run your distance and then to submit results, simply enter your start time and day and then the finish time. If you do the distance in one go, then the start and finish time of that one run, if you do a run each day then it will be the start time of the first run on the Saturday and then the finish time of the second run on the Sunday. The system will then calculate your overall time. If you want, you can take up to the full 48 hours to complete your challenge.

The results for each event will show in order of cumulative time, and by category. Categories include gender and age groups. However the primary objective is to complete the challenge you set for yourself and to engage with your friends, family and the Centurion Community by sharing your journey. Age Categories are available all the way from Under 5's to Vet 90.

Whilst all three events are open to everybody, we wanted the younger generation to have a chance to be involved, so there is an additional bike/ scooter category for under 10s.

You must submit your results via the page here, before 2359 on Monday 15th February 2021.

Beyond the results/ leaderboard this is about community engagement. We want you to share your runs and journey to your own finish line via any and all channels. You can tag us on facebook, twitter or instagram under the hashtag #centurioncommunity. Photos are strongly encouraged! We will share what we can and award spot prizes to the best uploads and engagements over the course of the race.

As always, we also need everyone to make sure they are adhering to government guidelines every step of the way. Please check the local or national guidelines for the area you are in, if you are in doubt please contact us via email.

How to Register

You can register by clicking on the button linked at the top of this page. Registrations are open until the final minutes of the last day.

During registration you are able to register for just you, or an extended group of family or friends as you wish.

The event is open to everybody no matter your location. We hope to see many international runners taking part.

You can also register for the canicross event - Simply select 'yes' during registration to 'running with a dog?' and you will appear in your age group but also the canicross category.

When you sign up you will need to include a shipping address. We will then post out your medal to you when you submit your result.

Re-Run Wheel of Fortune

In addition to your One Love entry, you can also choose the option to be part of the Re-Run Wheel Of Fortune.

If you choose this add-on, you will be contact by Charlotte and Dan at Re-Run and feature in their live Wheel of Fortune draw, where a twist will be added to your race. The challenge then is to run the distance with the added Wheel of Fortune twist.

If you sign up for this option you will also be able to send them any t-shirt you own for them to stamp with a special One Love/ Re-Run logo and send back to you.

100% of the funds will go to Re-Run to fund their shoe bank - the cost is £7.50 but you will need to cover the postage cost to Re-Run (they will send it back for free!)

There are 200 places available for this. Get in fast!

Weekly Coaching

Along the way we wanted to provide all runners who want it, some help and advice. As a result we will be offering weekly group coaching calls with two of our senior coaches - James Elson and Robbie Britton, available for free to anyone signed up for the 50km. These will take place via Zoom on Monday evenings at 1930 each week as below and focus on key areas. Questions will be taken via messages along the way and answered as far as possible.

The dates and topics will be:

Monday 18th January: Building your own training plan
Monday 25th January: Fuelling training and racing
Monday 1st February: Kit and shoes for your race
Monday 8th February: Being your best on race day

How do I upload my results

Simply head to the submit results button at the top of the page, and add your details, together with the time you started your first run and the time you finished your (last) run. The system will automatically calculate your finish time and display your result on the leaderboard.

You can run anywhere, anytime. Outside on road, trail, on the treadmill, round your garden, anywhere you like. But please only count sessions where you have actively gone out to add to your distance, not simply steps around the house or as part of your normal day to day movement.

This is an honour based system. If you have a GPX file, link to strava or other training platform then we will ask you to enter that alongside your manual time entry. To be eligible for awards (winners of each distance and each category) you need to upload files as proof of your run(s). However if you don't have access to a watch, phone or other recording device or prefer not to use them - no proof is required to be eligible as a finisher, just enter your times manually.
