2013 Overview

2013 research projects are being conducted as a collaboration between Centurion Running and Sam Robson, a post-doctoral research associate and ultrarunner. For 2013, a new area of research will be added by Danny Longman a PhD student at the university of Cambridge, in order to study the effects participation in ultra-endurance events has on physiological function.  

In order to take part in the 2013 research, you must be an entrant in to one of the 2013 Centurion 100 mile events. If you are keen to be a part of the projects for 2013 and fit this criteria, please visit the link here and fill out the pre-race registration form. The second stage of the project will be conducted over race weekend with Danny collecting data at both the start and finish lines. This stage is both optional and relevant to SDW100 and NDW100 entrants only. Finally, there will be a post race questionnaire. The pre and post race questionnaire's are open to entrants to the TP100, SDW100, NDW100 and W100. 

These data will be used for scientific purposes only, and the results of any analyses conducted will be passed on to all runners and published on the Centurion Running website. These data will be kept completely anonymous, and will not be passed to any external agent for any reason.
